As most who have attended before know, we do have a fee reduction this year and that is primarily due to COVID. The registration fee in recent years has been $35 per person or $45 per couple or family. This year it was reduced to $10 per person (couples pay individually, so $20 per couple, with no increase beyond that for a family).
All other fees are turned over to Carol/White Horse. Be it bunk fees or for tent spots or rv/camper spots. If we do any meals (likely we will do an evening meal and that will be pay as you go.) I will ask for a head count later.
The clarification I need to make is in regard to Day Use Fees. This is a fee paid by any registrant who attends but either comes and leaves on any day or days. Typically this will impact anyone coming in for one day and/or evening. It also applies to anyone staying off-site. Remember even if you are not reserving and paying for lodging of any kind you will have rest room facilities, and electricity available to you, not to mention use of the field to set up equipment. The $10 "Day Use" fee is per day.
If you are paying for lodging of any kind at White Horse (bunk space or for a tent, camper or rv space) you do not pay the Day Use Fee. However if you elect to stay on-site in your vehicle overnight, you should be paying the day use fee. We need to support White Horse, it has been a very tough year for them.
Note- registration fees stay with the DSSG, all other fees go to White Horse.

Meals are somewhat up in the air, but weighted more toward we will have some meals.
Specifically -
1) In view of Covid it is hard to predict just how many we might have that will want meals considering that meals are generally served indoors and our headcount will be reduced. I don't feel comfortable giving Carol a headcount until we are much closer to our start date.
2) We will have an evening meal, kind of a combination of our normal evening meal and the snack bar meal. One of Carol's concerns is that we will not have the headcount necessary for her to justify bringing in (and paying) a helper. So the evening meal, which will be "pay as you go" will be simpler and may very well be the snack bar meal (hamburgers and hot dogs, that sort of thing) served earlier. Keep in mind that during our time frame we are back on standard time so sunset will be shortly after 5 pm. Civil twilight ends near 5:30 pm and it is "observing dark" before 6:30 pm. As we don't want to eat and then go out to make final preps for an evening in the dark, the evening meal for those that want to buy one will remain at 4 pm. This being said, all who read this and want to purchase an evening meal (which can be a bit more elaborate than an hamburger) should post that hear. Let me know so I can give Carol a better idea of what to expect from us.
3) As you know we for years have only done 2 meals at the DSSG, breakfast (typically at 9 am) and supper at 4 pm. Breakfast may be more of an issue. Really depends upon demand/interest. Let me know here if you want to purchase a breakfast and what days. I can share this information with Carol and she can decide if based upon headcount if she wants to offer a breakfast. I will say I want one too if there is enough interest. Personally though I can survive for 4 or 5 days on Pop Tarts and Granola Bars.

As far as registrants, I know terry, Greg, Eric, Marianne, and I will be there. So you can confidently add that to your attendance. I’ll be there the entire time. Mailed my application in today. I’m ok with going to the local diner for meals, but if meals are being made on the premises I would purchase them instead of going into town. I cannot speak on behalf of the others.

Is there any indication whether Country Diner will be operational by DSSG time? If not, 'external' meals will be either in Columbia, Tylertown or maybe (?) the BBQ place near the other end of Hurricane Creek Road. I'm not aware of what's down the highway toward Bogalusa, though.

Barry,
I would be interested in purchasing an evening meal from Carol for each day that I am there.
