I visited White Horse on Wednesday to drop off a few door prizes and to check a few things out. (Attached to this post is the overhead view of the main building, barn and bunkhouse and bath house. Please note my # labels in respect to the bunk house and bunk rooms. Bunk house assignments have been made. Distancing is being observed in the bunk houses/bunk rooms. Please, please, please - everyone should bring their own cans of Lysol or equivalent. Also do not forget your mask or masks. If you are sick please stay home. Sharing of views thru telescopes or binoculars is a personal thing, if an attendee is uneasy about sharing views, he or she should say so. Please respect the preferences of others.
Field - well cut, should be fine for next week. The field will be laid out/marked by the set up crew next Tuesday. All other Tuesday arrivals should not arrive before 12 noon.
Afternoon/Evening Meal - Carol will have a dinner meal at 4 pm. It will be basically a traditional meal with entrée, vegetable, maybe a salad and dessert and drink. Cost will be $10.00 She is requesting that everybody who thinks they want a meal to let me know (specify day) as she needs to order the food.
Weather - as most probably know, there is yet another storm. It was a Category 4 a day or so ago, then virtually fell apart but is now about to reemerge in the Caribbean and regain strength to tropical storm status and make it's way to Cuba and then take a sharp turn into the central Gulf of Mexico. Time will tell. Other than that, discounting the storm, the forecast looks pretty decent, but, it is 2020.
Bunk assignments - See image below. Numbers are my attempt to help you find your way to your bunk room. We are underfilling the bunk rooms. All bunk assemblies are triple stacked. We only use the bottom bunks and in each bunk room we are not using all bunks. For instance, in the bunk room where I am (#1 on the photo) there are 7 lower bunks, we are only using 4 of them, basically one person in each corner. In the other bunk room that is being used (other than the two where I have couples) there are 5 lower bunks and we are using only 3, let's call it bunk bed 1, 3 and 5.
Light Rules/Field Rules - posted earlier, please follow them. No entry from off property after end of civil twilight (about 5:30 pm) Please do not do it. Do not call me, assuming you can get thru, to tell me you are running late and would like to be able to drive in. If it is clear you cannot enter the property with your lights on. You will have to park near the entry point (by the horse on the brick column) and walk in. Enough said.
Questions, let us know. See bunk assignments.
