I am going to try to paste in the extended forecast for the week starting on Wednesday and continuing on thru Sunday. As you all should know, we, working with the Feliciana Retreat Center, have now included Wednesday as an option due to the good weather forecast for Wednesday. From this point forward (now Monday) the weather should steadily improve with clear skies as early as Tuesday night. Note - we will not be there Tuesday and FRC will have the grass cut on the field on Wednesday morning (after giving the field sufficient time to dry)
So, in a nutshell, the forecast for pleasant days and good nights for astronomical observing is best for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday have been changing over the past few days with sometime looking like it will clear for the evening on Saturday and sometimes looking like clear skies will last for at least 3 or 4 hours on Friday night. The one thing that has not changed on the Weather Data that Len Philpot now has as part of this message board as well as AccuWeather and Intellicast is the promising forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Hence, the reason why Wednesday is now a possibility for us.
Note, we will not have meals on Wednesday, so bring your own food to hold you over until we have a FRC meal at 4 pm on Thursday. What I very likely (90% probability) can do is have your night shifted. If you were coming up on Thursday thru Saturday nights and now want to do Wednesday thru Friday, I believe I can twist a few arms and make that happen. I cannot guarantee it, but as I said, I think I can do that.
