Good afternoon all, Looking for a 10" dob. Smaller or larger may be considered. Feel free to email at flyingnfishing@gmail.com for faster comms. Thanks! -Clint

I don't have a scope but just a little seed to plant some food-for-thought. And knowing zero of your background I may be covering what you've already considered, so if so tell me to go away...
Per your profile you have an 8" f/5 Dob (presumably). A 10" is one of the sweet spots in Dob sizes, for several reasons (I built one years ago). But going to it from an 8" isn't gonna be much of a gain in the eyepiece. Yes, it'll be a little better but not a huge jump by any means, less than half a magnitude visually (0.3). Have you considered maybe a 12" instead? Of course as size increases, transport issues increase exponentially. But there are some fairly compact (truss, strut, etc.) 12" Dobs out there.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Hi Len,
Thanks for the reply! My 8" newt is used for imaging and gets to be a bit much to handle on a GEM with a foots worth of coma corrector and 100fov eyepiece hanging out. (Back focus for the camera vice my eyepieces is huge) Plus, I was hoping to have something to look through while using my GEM mount.
I did remember I had a friend with a dob who doesn't use it much so I am going to borrow it for the gaze.
My wife looked at me like I had three heads when I mentioned another scope - I don't blame her! I think I'm gonna let this idea die on the vine.

Nip that in the bud - Buy two new scopes!! And I'll deny I ever said that...

Hahaha! Well if you all don't see me at the gaze, you'll know what happened.
