I have completed the registration form for the 2021 DSSG Registration Form and Liability Release for 2021.
However I am not posting it yet as many of our regular attendees are out of their homes and without power due to the damage created by Hurricane Ida. I will likely wait about 1 week before I post the registration form.
Please be reminded that as said in a previous post that all attendees at this year's Deep South Star Gaze are required upon arrival to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results dated within 3 days of arrival at the star gaze. Anyone not being able to produce this documentation will not be able to stay and will have their registration form and payment returned to them. If the necessary documentation is still at home it will have to be retrieved, perhaps electronically. If any registrant is a Louisiana resident, they should download the LA Wallet form so that they can keep this documentation on their cell phone.
Note - I sought input for this, it was not an easy decision. I have received input from one or two that indicate that they will not attend because of this requirement, but a few more now say they will attend because we do have the requirement. It all balances out. Also it is not a HIPAA violation to request to see your documentation. It would be a HIPAA violation if I held it and showed your documentation to others without permission. All we will be doing is looking at your documentation in your presence and just checking off by each name on a list that you are vaccinated, that is it.

Barry,
Can I just show a picture of my vaccine card on my cellphone or do you need to see the physical card?

For their convenience Louisianans can download the official "LA Wallet" app to securely retrieve vaccination information from the Department of Health data base. It includes type, lot# and dates. No need to search the card.
The app also shows an accepted and valid form of your Driver's license.
If weather allows, I'll very likely attend one night of the DSSG. There's a small chance to stay longer. I can't confirm yet since the dates are in conflict with my backup plan for an astro-trip to West Texas (first plan is for early October). Regarding accommodation, that's a very open question, most likely RV or tend.

I will post the registration form for the 39th Annual DSSG on this site tonight on or about 9 pm. Speedy return of the forms completed and with payment should not be that urgent for most of you with the following exception - if you are a couple and would like one of the two private rooms you have to register and submit payment for all 5 nights of the DSSG. (if no one registers for 5 nights, 4 nights, then 3 etc. takes the room(s). All forms have to be completed and mailed. Preference given to earliest post marks. Your paperwork has to be mailed. No exceptions (and remember you have to indicate on the form that you have received your Covid vaccinations (both of you, assuming two in the couples room.
