As is typical for the Deep South Star Gaze, we have programs. Typically 4 programs spread over two days - Friday and Saturday. This year we are going to do our programs at 10 am and 11 am in the main building. We are doing this so that those that want to do lunch off site in the area can do that and then get back in plenty of time for the 3 pm door prize drawing and for some quality time on the field(s) just relaxing and/or messing with telescopes and related equipment.
This year on Friday, November 10th, our two programs are:
10 am - Steve Harrison - Building My First Domed Observatory
11 am - Bryan Shirkey - Low Magnification Astrophotography made Simple using a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer 2i (note - one of these is our main door prize)
And on Saturday, November 11th, our two programs are:
10 am - Philip Wollenberg - Astrophotography made Easy (using ZWO Astrocameras in Conjunction with a ZWO ASIAIR Camera Controller
11 am - John Martinez - Mars, a Project Perseverance Update
Note – there could be some position swapping, but this is the program schedule as of Monday, October 30th. If changes are made, those changes will be posted here.
In addition I will have a program available, one of mine - What, Where and How to Observe the April 8th, 2024 Solar Eclipse, we will fit this in somewhere where it is needed, typically for cloudy skies.
