As of this date (April 7th) we only have 4 registrations for the 2024 Spring Scrimmage which is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. This is unusually low and it may be attributable to many having travel plans for the solar eclipse which is tomorrow. Be that as it may, we are just 3 weeks and 2 days out from the start date. At 2 weeks out I need to call Carol at White Horse with an actual and a projected head count. I am not sure what number we have to hit to make it all viable for her but I may be finding that out in another week. So the message is - if you are planning on attending for at least a night or two, I need those registration forms sent in.
Enough said -

Likely the eclipse did have much to do with this. I noted many were from areas far away from the path of totality, myself included. The link to the registration form though does not appear to be working properly by the way.

I am out of town now without access to my mail but by my count we are now at a registration of 14 for the upcoming Deep South Spring Scrimmage which begins on May 1st which is in exactly 10 days. Additionally we have another 4 or 5 who are strongly considering attending. This does not count surprise registrations and there are always a few of those.
Carol will do a hamburger/hot dog type snack bar at night. Likely about 7 pm so you can eat and get back out to the field before it is dark. Steve Harrison has also volunteered to prepare eggs and bacon for those that want breakfast. Let us know who is in for that so I can let Steve know. Please contribute to the cause for this when you arrive if you want to participate.
Also if you have not registered please let me know as Carol is preparing bunkhouses based upon numbers that I give her and if I do not know if you are coming, I have no additional information to provide to her.
Regarding registration - there is no registration fee for the Spring Scrimmage, but you do have to register as we need to know who is attending and we need to know that to reserve a bunk space for you if you are not tent camping or staying in your own rv or camper.
What many are doing these days (and this is ok) is just indicate on your registration form something like "plan to stay for 2 nights (or one night). You can always extend if you come for the first night if the weather is good, or delay until later if the weather is bad early but looking good for later. When you are assigned to a bunkhouse and bunk it is your spot for the duration whether you come early and then extend your stay or do not come until later in the week. This gives all of you more flexibility and does not obligate you to pay for more nights than necessary, but if you do register, please submit payment for at least one or two nights. You can add to that on site if you do stay for a 3rd or 4th night.
